We focus on six key points to serve our nontraditional students.
Our mission is to provide higher education to students of all income levels. We’ve reduced tuition and fees and offer extensive grants and scholarships to nontraditional students. We also issue college credit for relevant and substantial work or volunteer experience, which streamlines our degree programs so our students can enter their fields at an accelerated pace.
We constantly add courses and evolve our programs so that our degrees lead to a variety of cutting-edge industries and fields. Our programs are also designed to directly and indirectly link to graduate school programs and external credentials. We teach our students to think as confident, professional leaders.
Our students are busy professionals—and often they’re also busy parents—and we work diligently to meet their needs, so convenience is key. Our extensive online web and portal presence simplifies things, along with our night, weekend, online, blended, and accelerated courses. Even more, we have extended office hours and streamlined student services.
We strive to be the finest adult education program in the region—and the nation. Our emphasis on quality focuses on every area, from internationally known faculty members to regional and national program accreditations. Even the details count: we continually update staff and student services to cater to our working nontraditional students.
We care, and our students appreciate a personal touch. This means that we offer a lot of pre-enrollment advising, one consistent point of contact with a College of Professional and Continuing Studies staff member throughout an entire degree program, and smaller classes that are filled with fellow nontraditional students.
There is an emphasis on technical skills and abilities for 21st-century careers—and we aim to take it even further. Our classrooms and faculty members are outfitted with the latest in instructional technology. Our live courses use multimedia and state-of-the-art software and hardware, and our online and blended courses use the most advanced course management systems available. Most importantly, we not only teach our students how to use technology effectively, but also how to think and excel in an increasingly technological world.
